Take Time to Relax and Have Fun

By Steve Sjogren | June 22, 2006

Do you set high standards for your own performance? With all of the emphasis on achievement and excellence this is an easy trap for most of us. I am not saying there is anything wrong with having “big” goals. But along the way we need to take time to relax and have fun. We need to enjoy our own lives as we serve others.

These days I recommend to the people I coach that they “be a turtle, not a rabbit.” A rabbit might work 100 hours a week and not know the names of his kid’s friends. He might spend so much time doing good for others, that he doesn’t have time to hold his wife’s hand, listen to his favorite song, or watch a sunset.

    Hi Steve,
I thoroughly enjoy the Outward Focus” videos each day . one of the first things that I do when I get to work is to watch the “OF”
    video.

Thanks for listening to God and becoming a “Turtle”.
